snowday

snowday makes small audio plugins built around one gesture each: grab a record, pull a string, let go. each plugin is $9. never on sale.

tapespin

short

tapespin is a tape-stop and scratch plugin you play by hand: hold the record to stop the tape, drag to scratch, let go and it spins back up on the beat.

long

tapespin turns any track into a record you can grab. its window is a platter with the track's audio drawn in the grooves. hold the record and the tape slows to a stop, pitch falling. drag it to scratch: the audio follows your hand forwards and backwards. let go and it spins back up, landing on the next beat, so even rough moves sound intended.

in auto mode the stop and start times come from the gesture itself. snap sets where the spin-up lands, from a 1/16 note to a bar. holds and scratches are written as automation, so a host can record a performance and play it back. any MIDI note can stop the tape too.
